SKI & SNOWBOARD WORLD
Aspen/Snowmass - The website for all the skiing and snowboarding in and around the Aspen/Snowmass area. Aspen/Snowmass is the best ski/snowboard resort in the world. This is why I chose it as my home. If you really want to jazz up your skiing, check out their Tache Racing programs.
Epic Ski -The best website forum on skiing out there. It's the "people's website", with detailed and interesting postings from all over the world, by pros and just plain ski fanatics alike. Go to the Barking Bears Forum once you're on the site.
PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) - The mother ship of American ski teaching. This organization has been the centerpiece of growth and improvement in ski teaching for over fifty years. Most ski schools are members, and most instructors aspire to gain PSIA certification. I've been an examiner with them since 1970, and feel that our membership has been an enormous contributor to YOUR skiing. Access the great learning material at this site and take lessons from PSIA certified pros.
US Ski Team - Racing turns are the mother turns. I have a strong belief that the best skiers in the world are the best racers. Look at the number of big mountain freeriders and pipe & park wizards who had a racing background first. It is the proving ground of great skiing, and the U.S. Ski Team is our own men and women - the ones who represent America on the World Cup.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Aiki Works -This is the world of Tom Crum, one of my favorite teachers who has taken the principles of centering in Aikido and applied them to business, sports, and life. Tom has a stunning ski week in Aspen called the Magic of Skiing.
Ski Doctors -This program is run by my friend, former world champion freestyler, John Clendenin, and uses some of the finest pros from the Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen/Snowmass. John operates an indoor ski deck where you can tune your technique and manage your anxiety in an indoor environment where it is impossible to fall and easy to learn. The lessons on the deck transfer perfectly to the snow. In addition, John operates the Camp of the Champs, a terrific mogul and offpiste program.
WISDOM
Philosophy in Business - This is the website where you can find information on the Leadership Diamond®. Take the survey to find out where you can leverage your results and end self-sabotaging behaviors.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Brian Porter Photography - Brian Porter is the magic lens that created most of the images that we have used for the website and the book. It is interesting to see a guy with a pack full of cameras, on a snowboard, jumping off of a cliff to get under it to shoot a picture of me at the top. Somehow he survives all this and makes beautiful shots.
Ron LeMaster - a genius technical analyst, lecturer, author, and the undisputed champion of ski racing photography. Check his website to really get a feel for what great skiing looks like. Ron LeMaster is the author of " The Skier's Edge", one of the few technical books that real people can read and understand!
FITNESS
Carmichael Training Systems - These are the folks who trained Lance Armstrong. They have a perfect program for getting you fit and ready for sports.
GEAR
Boot Tech - Jim Lindsay, the master boot guy. You wouldn't drive your car on the highway unless your wheels were balanced and aligned. Nor should you jump in your boots and ski until they're integrated with your foot. By appointment only at the Highlands in Aspen.
The Foot Foundation - Eric Ward, another great boot maestro, has developed a process called the SHIM BALANCE SYSTEMTM. His system is fast and easy and works with any custom foot bed you might already have, as well as trim-to-fit foot beds.
