Bio

I started skiing in Maine when I was 5 years old, and haven't missed a season yet.  I started teaching at my home ski area in Maine when I was 14, and continued throughout high school and college.  Upon receiving my BS in Natural Resources Conservation, I thought that I would try teaching skiing full time for a year or two.  Ten years later, I am still at it.  Teaching skiing has taken me to New Zealand, Argentina, and China to learn about the sport, its people, and its culture.  I have been an examiner for the Professional Ski Instructors of America for the past 7 years, and am always learning something new about the sport.

In the summer, I split my time between painting houses, gardening/landscaping, riding my road and mountain bikes, and skiing in the southern hemisphere.

I live with my wife, Molly, and our cat, Sweet Pea, in Carbondale, and am proud to be able to call this valley my home.  Living here and teaching for the Aspen Ski Company are truly dreams that have come true.

Skills

I am an expert in teaching people to become skiers.  What makes me unique as a diamond pro, is my ability to teach children how to become skiers.  By using the Sports Diamond, I have made hundreds of children into competent skiers who can manage the sport as an individual.  These days I focus more on children from ages 7-18, as well as adults.

My greatest skill is listening to you tell me about yourself and your goals, and making them become a reality.  My goal is to provide simple instruction for you to remember from one season to another, and to help you become a better skier in all aspects of the sport.
