Ski Tip for Bumps #2
The absolute best and most fun improvement tool in bumps:
FOLLOW ANOTHER SKIER---EXACTLY IN THE TRACK.
So much of learning to ski bumps well is making instant and flexible tactical decisions. And the funnest way ever to learn how to do that is to get behind someone who can ski them. EXACTLY behind them. And stay with them as long as you can.
If possible find a friend who will try to find a line that you can follow. But even if not, just the intention to follow exactly expands your experience, taps into your intuition, and gives you opportunities to put your skis into turns that may not be normal for you.
And did I say this is fun to do? It's a hoot. Check out Annie, Chris, and I in the bumps at Loveland last spring.
