Brilliant Skiing w PSIA-RM group
I just got back from two days at Vail skiing with some wonderful instructors taking the clinic based on the Sports Diamond™.
First, I would like to re-state to them how delighted I was to work with them. It reminds me that the very BEST thing a pro or student can do is show up fully at a training event. This means to be fully present and committed to working with the whole group on growth. This group was a bunch of rock stars at this. As we said often...We sucked at a very high level!!!!
So I'm starting this blog post as an invitation to them or others to discuss some of the elements of our clinic--either through questions or discoveries. So please feel free to comment.
And thanks again for a wonderful two days!!

Thanks, Joey! It was fun for me too.
What Joey says about alignment is, for me, the fundamental goal of ski technique—the fundamental paradigm of the Power Corner of the Sports Diamond. It simply means that most of what I do, physically, on skis is designed to keep me balanced and aligned against the ski, which in turn is creating a platform within the snow to slide on. This alignment should be fairly neutral and resilient so that I can manage (using and adapting) pressure, rotational movements, and edgework. I will write a longer piece on this in another post in a few days. And I will welcome challenges and other thoughts.
