Toeside Carve
On the toeside carve...
- Set a high edge angle early in the turn by slightly extending the ankles and bending the knees as you project your body down the hill to the inside of the turn.
- From extending the ankles briefly at the beginning of the turn, allow the ankles to flex slightly as the forces of the turn increase.
- Keep pushing the knees toward the snow, focusing on getting the back knee as close as possible to the snow.
- Force the back foot to follow the front foot by flexing the hamstring on your back leg. This pushes the back foot toward the inside of the turn and causes the tail of the board to keep following the nose, maintaining the carve.
- Hold on to the turn until the board is pointing slightly back up the hill to get that extra bit of speed control.
